About the Program
Join Jimmy Welch, Senior Field Conservationist, and Emilie Wilder, Associate Director of Conservation, from Zoo New England for a closer look at Blanding’s turtles in Concord. They’ll talk about the history of Blanding’s turtles, the threats they face, and the ongoing efforts to support their recovery. We’ll explore how October Farm Riverfront contributes to their expanding habitat and discuss ways we can all help ensure their continued success there.

Jimmy and Emilie will have traps set in the wetland, offering a chance to (hopefully) meet some of the creatures that live there. Plus, they’ll radio-track a Blanding’s turtle in the area—so you’re guaranteed to meet at least one of these remarkable turtles!
