This event will occur in light rain. In case of inclement weather, please call the Land Trust office after 9:00 am on the day of the event for updates: 978-369-6526.

Please dress for the weather and wear long pants and sturdy footwear (waterproof shoes are recommended if raining). Sun protection and tick/insect repellent are recommended. If you plan to stay for the invasives pull, note that poison ivy is present on the property, but we will make every effort to avoid it.

There are no bathroom facilities at any of the Land Trust’s properties.

Weed Warrior volunteers remove invasive plants from the trail at Punkatasset Preserve.

About the Event
Celebrate National Volunteer Week and Earth Day with the Land Trust, and embrace this year’s Earth Day theme, Our Power, Our Planet! Meet us under a tent in the field at Jeans Land for refreshments and a chance to connect with some of our amazing volunteers. Executive Director Jane Gruba-Chevalier and Manager of Land Stewardship Alexi Dart-Padover will share updates on our volunteer programs and plans for the upcoming stewardship season.

Then, put your power into action with an Earth Day Weed Warrior activity at our Upper Spencer Brook Valley property: help remove invasive buckthorn and spread seed bombs made by volunteers this winter.

Come for part of the event or stay for the full experience. Either way, it’s a fun way to get outside, connect with nature, and make a difference in our local habitats on Earth Day!

Can’t make it to the event? No problem! You can still get involved. Click here to express your interest, and check out our volunteer programs to see all the ways you can help care for our local lands and waterways.
