About the Program
Rachel Wheeler and John Myers will reprise their guided history and nature walk through the Wright Woods, which they know intimately. As a special treat, they’ll be joined by Rachel’s sisters, Debo and Juliet. Join us for a guided loop walk beginning at the Fairhaven Overlook. In addition to appreciating local flora, participants will learn about the history of the property, the stone terraces and boathouse, and the family that loved and preserved these woods. Walk about 2 miles, or choose a shorter loop.

Rachel speaking to walk participants at the stone boathouse last July during Riverfest.
Walk Guide Bios
Juliet, Rachel and Debo are great-nieces of Helen Robinson Wright, who began donating parcels of land within Wright Woods in 1959. Helen Wright was instrumental in the creation of the Concord Land Conservation Trust. Juliet, Rachel, and Rachel’s husband John Myers continue to live on the property at Staples Camp. They intimately know the woods and shores of Wright Woods. To walk and experience this remarkable place with them will be a unique treat.
